A couple of months ago, I gave an assignment called Fantastical Mode of Transportation, which was designed by my colleague Sean Arnette at St. Mary's High School. I adapted it and asked the grade 11 students to use conte to show a human manipulating a giant insect as a vehicle. Truthfully, I wasn't thrilled with the majority of the results, as a lot of students rushed the assignment while I was away. However, here is a great example of the potential of the idea. More should eventually be added (they aren't uploading properly right now).

Some Grade 12 Art- AVI4M
The grade 12s are continuing to work on their personal portfolios. Here are some of the pieces that they created some time ago, an assignment I call the Reinterpretation. They were asked to take a famous piece of art related to their portfolio theme, and somehow change it to make it their own. I hope you enjoy the results as much as I did.
